Why You Keep Repeating the Same Pattern

It's not a lack of willpower. It's the knot underneath doing its job, in silence, just like it always has.

You already have the list ready.

You've already told yourself that this time would be different. You've already made promises, plans, decisions. You've already gotten angry at yourself more times than you can count. And yet, you've ended up in the same place again.

And here's what no one tells you: it's not a lack of willpower. Willpower, in fact, is what's kept you trying. What fails isn't your determination. What fails is that you're applying determination to the wrong place.

The knot is not the pattern

The pattern is what you see. the relationship you repeat, the type of boss who always finds you, the way you abandon yourself when you feel love.

The knot is what lies beneath the pattern. It's the silent rule that decides, before you decide, what you accept and what you sabotage. The knot isn't your problem. The knot is the solution you came up with, as a child, for a problem that no longer exists.

But you're still applying that solution. And because the problem is gone, the solution has become the problem.

The good news

The knot doesn't come undone through effort. It comes undone through seeing. Really seeing. Looking at it closely. Understanding where it came from. Recognising that that rule once saved you. and telling it: I don't need you anymore.

It's not magic. It's slow. But it works. And there is no other way.

Willpower won't get you out of the pattern. Only awareness will.
